The SWITCH App
The SWITCH App allows you to access EV chargers across the country, displaying available chargers and then guiding you to them via the shortest route. The App’s mobile wallet can be topped up using vouchers and charge cards that are available at all commercial premises hosting our chargers.
The SWITCH App also allows connected smart charger owners to manage their home charging, setting their time of charging and ensuring visibility over monthly usage.

Saving money while saving the planet
As part of our initial pilot projects to verify potential opportunities in the E-mobility sector, we deployed the region’s first E-Taxi in partnership with Vesi taxis.
We learned the following
- The savings from E-mobility are real. Our taxi, charging with a mix of private and commercial electricity, was operating at 7 c/km compared to 21-30 c/km for hybrid and conventional competitors. The E-taxi was saving $20/day on fuel compared to a Prius. This represents 50% of the driver’s salary.
- Because of the higher up-front costs of EVs, ideal target are customers that drive over 100km+ per day resulting in a much quicker payback for the user.
- Range anxiety is genuine concern, especially with older models. A well-developed 50kw+ DC charging network is critical to commercial applications like taxis. We need more sites!
- The impact of war in Ukraine has highlighted another selling point of E-mobility: the elimination of price volatility for drivers.
- We aim to supply a limited number of models to ensure that we can offer the required support.
Monthly cost comparison to petrol vehicles
- Because of the higher up-front costs of EVs and customer concerns regarding servicing, we focus on leasing models.
- We offer the fully insured MG ZS EV for $2,050 VIP on a four year term, with a low residual value of $ 20,000.
- Running costs are expected to be 60%-80% cheaper than a petrol equivalent.
